Telestroke services

The Emergency and Neurology departments at North Shore University Hospital work together to utilize telestroke. Telestroke is specialty care provided by stroke neurologists—doctors with special training in the nervous system—to patients in emergency care who have signs and symptoms of a stroke. This means 24/7 coverage by a specialized team that’s devoted to your care. Our stroke neurologists are consulted to assess the patient via video and audio. They make recommendations to the Emergency Department for advanced diagnostic studies and treatment interventions.
